Reading Week 2 Term 4

Compare and contrast information we read.
Compare and contrast information we read. will be able to identify similar information in the texts I read and then compare them. I will be able identify the differences in the texts I read. I will be able to create a table or a Venn Diagram to show the similar and different information I have read.

Activity 1 - Building a Healthy Body

With a partner, discuss the questions below. Be prepared to report back to the class
on your ideas.
1. What two kinds of food provide us with good, long-lasting sources of energy? Why is it
important to eat more of one than the other?
The two kinds of food rich in energy are fruits and vegetables. It is important to eat more healthy foods than unhealthy food otherwise you will get fat.

2. Imagine that the school athletics day is going to take place in two months and you
want to do as well as you can. How would you prepare? What have you learnt about
building a healthy body that will help you to prepare?
I would prepare by eating lots of healthy food and training hard. I have learnt what to eat to have a balanced diet and stay healthy.

3. Discuss the liquids you usually drink. Which ones are the right kinds of drink for a
healthy body? Use what you know about sugar to explain what drinking too much
fizzy drink might do.
The liquids I usually drink are water and milk. They are both the right liquids to drink. If you have too much fizzy drinks,  you might get diabetes.
