Big Shift by Jaqui Brown

WALT write a Book Review
For the purpose of Book Review, we have named the narrator Weremu.

Weremu grew up on a Sheep Farm. He had a brother called Terei and a sister called Cherie. Weremu had a Kunikuni pet pig  named Snorky. He loved the Farm and was sad when his Mum and Dad split up. Weremu really loved his Dad and wanted to stay on the Farm. He could not stay with his Dad on the Farm so he had to go to the Wellington City with his Mum. When Werumu was in Wellington he missed the Farm, his pet Kunikuni Snorky, feeding the Lambs, watching Dad play Rugby on Saturdays, and having a joke with his Dad after the Rugby game.

When Weremu was in the city, he felt like there was no room to breathe. He had made some  friends that lived in the same lot of flats. The three kids all played musical instruments and sat together and chatted on laundry day. Weremu’s friends were Tomo and Meilai.

When Tomo, Meilai and Weremu were older, Tomo and Weremu were at college together and Meilai was in Auckland. At University, Tomo trained to be a Doctor and Weremu trained  to be a Vet. He wanted to be a Vet when he was an adult so he could work in the City or Countryside. When he grew up, he became a Vet. Weremu looked after lots of animals.

Big Shift

Title: Big Shift
Author: Jacqui Brown

The story is about a family that splits up and the dad stays back on the farm in the countryside while the mum and the three children go and stay in Wellington. The characters in the story are Dad, Mum, Terei, Cherie, the Narrator, Tomo, Meilai, the two kids who beat up Tomo and the two kids who were tagging.
The story takes place on the farm in the countryside and in Wellington.
I like  this story because it shows how some people feel when  their parents split up and they struggle to keep their family together.

Hot Water Beach

On Queen Birthday we were in the Coromandel. We went to Hot Water Beach. At Hot Water Beach you can dig a hole and you can sit in water that is hot. It is hot because thermal activity in the area. You can not get hot water all the time. You have to be there on or within 2 hours of low tide.
