Hot Water Beach
On Queen Birthday we were in the Coromandel. We went to Hot Water Beach. At Hot Water Beach you can dig a hole and you can sit in water that is hot. It is hot because thermal activity in the area. You can not get hot water all the time. You have to be there on or within 2 hours of low tide.

Hi Karl,
I love the photos of you two having fun - it was a shame we didn't get there at the right time.
The spring that creates the hot water is under the ground, and I think I read that there are 2 springs, very close to each other. The water comes up and is about 60 degrees Celsius.
