FIFA 2014

On Wednesday morning NZ time we were watching Brazil vs Germany in the first semi final of FIFA 2014 Football World Cup. The score was Germany 7 - Brazil 1.

It was really exciting because no-one expected the turnout and also because Germany got the opening goal and then got 4 goals in six minutes. At halftime the score was 5-0 to Germany. After halftime Brazil were doing much better and got a goal on full-time and there was a bit of extra time even though earlier on in the game the Referee had said no extra time. Germany missed getting their eighth goal in extra time.

The previous biggest loss for Brazil was in 1920 when they lost 6-0 to Uruguay.

Brazil has won 5 of the nineteen FIFA Football World Cups, but will not play in the final at Rio and will instead play for third and fourth at the capital of Brazil, Brasilia. Six of the FIFA Football World Cups have been won by the home country, but not this year.
