- The Kiwi bird, of the order Apterygiformes-Ratitae, occurs only in New Zealand.
- Kiwi are native to New Zealand.
- Kiwi cannot fly.
- The Kiwi is a national symbol of New Zealand.
- At present, the greatest threat to the Kiwi’s survival is predation by invasive mammalian predators like Cats, Dogs, Stoats, Weasels, Ferrets, Possums and Rats.
