Bio Poem

Bio Poem

Karl

Sporty, intelligent and gamey

Lover of War, Army, Air Force and Navy

Who feels happy when he plays with his army figures

Who wonders about war

Who fears the enemy army killing him

Who would like a fighter plane

Who dreams of war

Dreams

Oh, the dreams that pass through my head, oh the dreams,
Some about war, some about kingdoms, kings and queens.
The dreams about war have officers shouting orders, the noise of gunfire, the screams of soldiers that have been hit,
The dreams about kingdoms, kings and queens have the king marching on parade, the knights charging in to battle.
Sometimes I wake with the sheets twisted around me,
From tossing and turning as if I've been fighting,
Fighting the wars?
Fighting the knights?
Or fighting my dreams?

Flying

On Monday evening Robin, Mama, Papa and I  went to Whenuapai to go on a Cessna172 so Uncle Malcom could take us around and over Auckland and some of the islands. Uncle Malcom has his private pilots licence (P.P.L). Papa took photos of us, but had to stay on the ground as there were only 4 seats in the plane.  We were started but SAS Troops were doing parachute jumps so we had to shut down.
They delayed the jumps so we were finally you able to go. First we went over Eden Park, Avondale Racecourse, Greenlane Racecourse and Alexandra Park. Next we went over school and our house. Next we went over Musik Point. Then we went over the islands, Waiheke, Motutapu and Rangitoto, before flying over the CBD and buzzing around the Sky Tower and over the Auckland Harbour Bridge on the way back to the airfield.
We had fun and I am really thankful to Uncle Malcolm!

Baptism

On Sunday we went  to church to get baptised. When we got there we started the service, then we went to the font at the back of the church and our parents and godparents joined us at the font. I was the first one to be baptised and then Robin. First Reverend Helen poured the water of baptism over our hair and then put the sign of the cross on our forehead using oil blessed by the Bishop of Auckland. Then we got our baptism candles and certificates.

After the service we took Uncle Steve on a tour around Auckland because he lives in Christchurch. When we got home Reverend Helen and her husband Stephen were already there, as well as our family and godparents. After a while Papa told me to tell everyone the food was finished and Mama asked me to ask Reverend Helen if she would bless the food.

My baptism was a special time, I had fun with my family and friends.
