My Reflection on Netbooks -2013

Hi, My name is Karl.  I am in Room 9.  My teacher is Mr. D. Nath.

This was an exciting year for me because I started using my chromebook for my learning. I was excited by the thought of doing cool stuff on it, but it took me awhile to start using it responsibly.

These are my reflections:
My teacher taught me how to use sumo paint, keyboard shortcuts and cybersafety. The thing I learn’t from myself was how to  use google presentation and how to type so I finish my work quick and go on study ladder. The things I learnt was to be on the right sites.

Outside of school I learnt how to organise my google drive and change the colours of my folders. I helped other kids this year by telling them how to do things like getting on to the class site. I used my Key Competencies to think what to research about,  wrote Positive E-mails and blog posts, Used language, symbols and texts to get my punctuation correct for my writing and managing what sites I am on so I don’t go on games or youtube. (The picture below is from a narrative I wrote).

Hello Karl,
Having netbooks has been a great advantage to you, in terms of learning technological skills at a young age. You and your peers in the Manaiakalani area are very lucky.
I really hope you remember about safe sites and managing which sites you do go on to, and do keep practicing your typing so you get faster and more proficient with it.
Love Mama
