Cupcakes

On Wednesday we watched Breakfast News on TV One. The news reporters had cupcakes with blue icing for William and Kate's son Prince George Alexander Louis. We decided to make some too! First we mixed the dry ingredients. Next we added the liquid and dampened it all. Then we put the cases in the muffin tin and poured the mixture in. After it cooled, we iced them with blue icing (it was a boy) and put a yellow pebble on top for the crown. They were YUMMY!

Walking To The Sky Tower

On Monday Robin and I scooted and Mama walked to the Sky Tower. It was 11.8 kilometres to get to the Sky Tower from Glen Innes. Then we went down to Britomart afterwards, got some lunch (Robin and I had Subway and Mama got some sushi) and got a bus home.

On the way to the Sky Tower we saw a boat-shed owner and he told us about his boat.  He and his sister owned it. His bosses boat is Lady Margaret. It was interesting.

We've recently read a book about the Rainbow Warrior and we saw a mosaic about it near Marsden Wharf where it was bombed.

I felt proud, happy and excited all at once after our trip because I had done it.  We weren't tired but we did fall asleep quite quickly.

On Saturday night my Mum, my Dad, Robin and I went to Eden Park. The Blues were versing the Chiefs.  Blues 16 Chiefs 26 and lots of mistakes were made. Arron Cruden dumped Rene Ranger and it was a penalty. Blues fans were booing at the Chiefs but not me because it is not fair play. I was annoyed because my ears hurt all night because Moo-loo Bells.

Mighty Muscles

Mighty Muscles by Sue Gibbison

The article is about how you can get stronger muscles and the foods you need to eat. I like this article because it tells me how our muscles can get strong and what cramp means. Cramp means your muscles are tight and it hurts.
The smallest muscle in our body is called Stapedius and it is in our ear. Our biggest muscle is called  Gluteus Maximus and it is found near our upper leg.

All Blacks Haka

I have been memorizing the All Blacks Haka.

Kama Mate
Ka mate! Ka mate! Ka ora! Ka ora!
I die! I die! I live! I live!
Ka mate! Ka mate! Ka ora! Ka ora!
I die! I die! I live! I live!
Tenei te tangata puhuru huru
This is the hairy man
Nana nei i tiki mai
Who fetched the Sun
Whakawhiti te ra
And caused it to shine again
A upa ... ne! ka upa ... ne!
One upward step! Another upward step!
A upane kaupane whiti te ra!
An upward step, another.. the Sun shines!!
Hi !!!

Kapa O Pango
Kapa O Pango kia whakawhenua au i ahau!
All Blacks, let me become one with the land
Hi aue ii!
Ko Aotearoa e ngunguru nei!
This is our land that rumbles
Au, au, aue ha!
It's my time! It's my moment!
Ko Kapa O Pango e ngunguru nei!
This defines us as the All Blacks
Au, au, aue ha!
It's my time! It's my moment!
I ahaha!
Ka tu te ihiihi
Our dominance
Ka tu te wanawana
Our supremacy will triumph
Ki runga ki te rangi e tu iho nei, tu iho nei ihi!
And will be properly revered, placed on high
Ponga ra!
Silver fern!
Kapa O Pango, aue hi!
All Blacks!
Ponga ra!
Silver fern!
Kapa O Pango, aue hi!
All Blacks!

Soccer

Soccer

For the last 6 weeks of Term 2 Room 9 have been learning Soccer. Our coach was Ben from Auckland Football Federation.

In Soccer we learnt how to:

Dribble, it means to kick the soccer ball but keep it near you. Pass, it means to use the inside of your foot and pass it to another player in your team. Stop, it means to use the bottom of your foot to stop the ball. Kick, it means to kick the ball down to the other goal. Throw, it means to throw the ball in after it goes out.

We had a tournament, games plus plenty of practise. We had fun doing Soccer. We did it either in the Hall and on the Court. We did Truck and Trailer, Flag Tag and Octopus.

Rugby Traveler Frank Bunce All Black

On Saturday Mama, Robin, Papa and Karl were watching Intrepid Explorers on TV ONE. Frank Bunce was in Egypt. In the movie he was traveling around Egypt and in Cario there were people protesting against the law.
